Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.68%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.68%, while the MDAX index added 0.39%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.84%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p), which rose 4.19% or 21.000 points to trade at 522.400 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (DE:SAPG) added 4.04% or 4.720 points to end at 121.580 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (DE:PSHG_p) was up 3.66% or 3.100 points to 87.830 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 4.41% or 0.505 points to trade at 10.935 at the close. Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) declined 1.33% or 2.63 points to end at 195.08 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was down 1.30% or 0.62 points to 47.08.

The top performers on the MDAX were Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which rose 4.30% to 81.250, Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which was up 3.47% to settle at 41.460 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which gained 3.27% to close at 164.200.

The worst performers were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was down 5.52% to 6.025 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 3.85% to settle at 13.99 and Hypoport AG (DE:HYQGn) which was down 2.62% to 487.400 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which rose 4.19% to 116.800, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 4.19% to settle at 522.400 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which gained 4.04% to close at 121.580.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 3.85% to 13.99 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which lost 1.69% to settle at 2.332 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was down 1.29% to 22.185 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 375 to 312 and 82 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.75% to 19.65 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.09% or 36.75 to $1796.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.11% or 0.09 to hit $80.55 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.15 to trade at $83.27 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1573, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8479.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 94.177.
