The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 35.29% or 14.080 points to trade at 25.820 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) declined 5.68% or 3.070 points to end at 51.010 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) was down 2.30% or 1.140 points to 48.340.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which rose 4.25% to 17.900, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was up 2.78% to settle at 62.900 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which gained 2.55% to close at 43.95.
The worst performers were Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) which was down 3.74% to 39.620 in late trade, Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which lost 3.51% to settle at 91.96 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 2.41% to 50.600 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 365 to 300 and 73 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.29% or 22.35 to $1753.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.70% or 0.66 to hit $39.50 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.32% or 0.55 to trade at $42.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1187, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.9055.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 97.570.
