Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the gained 5.83%, while the index added 5.75%.

The best performers of the session on the were Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:), which rose 22.61% or 28.05 points to trade at 152.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:) added 17.77% or 10.85 points to end at 71.90 and GAIL Ltd (NS:) was up 16.43% or 11.40 points to 80.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:), which fell 14.67% or 7.90 points to trade at 45.95 at the close. HDFC Bank Ltd (NS:) declined 1.60% or 14.30 points to end at 881.25 and Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:) was down 1.22% or 3.15 points to 255.20.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:) which rose 18.58% to 72.45, UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:) which was up 13.01% to settle at 3580.45 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:) which gained 11.75% to close at 2052.50.

The worst performers were HDFC Bank Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.39% to 882.40 in late trade, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which lost 0.88% to settle at 439.95 and AXIS Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was up 0.14% to 428.35 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 983 to 553 and 80 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1380 rose and 952 declined, while 134 ended unchanged.

Shares in Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.22% or 3.15 to 255.20. Shares in IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 0.88% or 3.90 to 439.95.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 7.06% to 67.1000.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 2.20% or 32.60 to $1511.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 6.06% or 1.57 to hit $27.48 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 5.13% or 1.46 to trade at $29.93 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.38% to 75.065, while EUR/INR rose 0.74% to 80.5335.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.00% at 102.565.
