Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The best performers of the session on the were Resmed Inc DRC (ASX:), which rose 10.86% or 2.020 points to trade at 20.620 at the close. Meanwhile, Resolute Mining Ltd (ASX:) added 9.62% or 0.115 points to end at 1.310 and Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:) was up 5.82% or 1.770 points to 32.170 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cleanaway Waste Management Ltd (ASX:), which fell 13.15% or 0.280 points to trade at 1.850 at the close. GWA Group Ltd (ASX:) declined 3.86% or 0.120 points to end at 2.990 and Sandfire Resources NL (ASX:) was down 3.47% or 0.210 points to 5.850.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 625 to 495 and 334 ended unchanged.

AUD/USD was up 0.13% to 0.6826, while AUD/JPY rose 0.18% to 74.17.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 97.433.
